Large 1909-1910 silver gelatin photo of Charles “Chief” Bender of the Philadelphia Athletics in full uniform. Bender of Native American origin who was also one of the best players of his generation. The ace of the staff he posted an 18-8 record in 1909 with an ERA of 1.66! File stamp rear side of photo from1910,it’s still one of his largest and best images ever taken and while it has some edge chipping and a spot of discoloration on the far left, it’s a fantastic piece of prewar baseball photography that can be yours if you’re interested!
