1973 Dean's Photo Service Dave Winfield RC Rookie PSA 6 - the first PSA ever graded - Crossed from SGC 9. This is a large slab, approximately 10" x 13". Back is blank, hence no pic. This was an SGC 9 but I crossed it to PSA to satisfy the Winfield Master Registry as this was the first one PSA ever graded. See last pic for the SGC 9 label before I crossed it to PSA. 1973 Dean's Photo Service San Diego Padres Dave Winfield HOF Rookie. Extremely rare regional issue featuring Dave Winfield a year before issuance of his more well-known 1974 Topps #456 Rookie card! Ultra-low population of 8. Winfield was drafted by the San Diego Padres 4th overall in 1973 out of the University of Minnesota. He was a 4-sport athlete in college and expectations were so high for him the Padres elected to have Winfield bypass the Minor Leagues entirely. He made his professional debut with the Padres on June 19, 1973, and exceeded rookie limits with them that season. Winfield went on to have a remarkable 22-year Major League career and was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2001 on the first ballot.
