Leroy Satchel Paige 1974 Laughlin Old Time Black Stars #15 PSA 3 VG Centered
Description
Leroy Satchel Paige 1974 Laughlin Old Time Black Stars #15 PSA VG 3 - Under-graded Called by Dizzy Dean and Joe DiMaggio the best they ever saw, Paige dominated Negro baseball in the 30's and 40's. The crowd swelled when he pitched and he probably won more games than any pitcher in history. Oldtimers split between Paige and Smoky Joe Williams as the alltime tops. He began in 1926 and in '48 was a 42 year-old rookie with the Cleveland Indians, helping them to a pennant with a 6-1 record. At close to 60 he was still pitching. He was with many clubs. Paige became the first black Hall-of-Famer.
