1977 Wonder Bread Star Wars #5 Darth Vader CGC 6 James Earl Jones
Description
1977 Wonder Bread Star Wars #5 Darth Vader. A great addition for Star Wars collectors! This card is very difficult to get in high grade. Rest in peace, James Earl Jones. The 1977 Wonder Bread Star Wars non-sports card set consists of 16 standard-sized (2-1/2” by 3-1/2”) cards. One of the few sets released not related to card giant Topps, the small 1977 Wonder Bread Star Wars set remains highly sought after from collectors with primary characters, droids and spaceships still the focus. Each card features a black border with the Star Wars logo printed vertically along the right side beside the full-colored posed or in-action photograph. As with many set displaying a black border, the 1977 Wonder Bread Star Wars set can also be difficult to find in high quality due to chipping and cracking of the borders. At the bottom is a yellow strip bearing the character (and the portraying actor) or card name printed in red. In comparison to the Topps versions, the Wonder Bread issuance reveals relatively simple backs describing the front in black ink with the card number spelled out at the bottom and the copyright tag line at the bottom. Cards were distributed one per loaf of bread and due to the massive promotion; the bread bags also carry a nominal value. Collectors were also offered a mail-in offer to order the entire set from the manufacturer.
