1938 Goudey #269 Frank Pytlak Cleveland Indians (Tough Set!!!)🔥⚾🔥⚾
Condition: MySlabs D (good/vg)
Description
This card comes from one of the more unique pre-war sets, issued by Goudey and often referred to as the "Heads Up" set because of the large player heads shown on cartoon bodies. Frank Anthony Pytlak, who went by Frankie, played 12 seasons in the Major Leagues between 1932 and 1946 for the Cleveland Indians and Boston Red Sox. For a time during his career, he was widely considered to be the best catcher in the American League. This card is the version that features small drawings and comments in the background. It has substantial corner/edge/surface wear, including a crease that impacts the lower left front/back right side. Overall, a nice lower grade example for your collection from a highly unusual set. You will receive a partial refund for shipping costs after payment is made either when multiple auctions are won within the same week or when multiple purchases occur within the same 24-hour period.
