1949 Remar Bread Oakland Oaks Richard Kryhoski Regional Issue 🔥⚾🔥⚾

Condition: MySlabs C (vg/ex)

Description

Comes from a set produced by the Remar Baking Company of Emeryville in Alameda County just outside of Oakland, CA. Measures 2 1/8 X 3 1/8 inches. Has corner/edge/surface wear but no creases or wrinkles. The printing on the front and back is bright and clean. Slightly diamond cut, which was very common for the set. During its heyday in the first half of the 20th Century, Remar Baking was widely considered to be the top baking operation on the West Coast. For 6 years starting in 1945 and ending in 1950, the company produced and distributed annual card sets depicting the local Oakland Oaks baseball team operating in the Pacific Coast League. The Oaks played in the PCL from 1903 to 1955. Kryhoski was signed by the New York Yankees during the 1949 season and went on to play 7 years in the Major Leagues with the Yankees, Detroit Tigers, St. Louis Browns, Baltimore Orioles and Kansas City Athletics. Overall, a nice lower mid-grade example for your collection from an interesting 1940's regional set.
