He was born on November 30, 1962, in Mc Adams, Arkansas. Jackson is considered one of the greatest two-sport athletes in history, having excelled in both baseball and football at the highest levels. Jackson played college football for the Auburn Tigers before being drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFL Draft and the Kansas City Royals in the MLB Draft, both in 1986. He spent parts of three seasons with the Royals from 1990 to 1992. During his time with the Royals, Jackson hit .250 with 12 home runs and 47 RBIs in 136 games. His best season came in 1990 when he hit .277 with nine home runs and 38 RBIs. In addition to his baseball career, Jackson also had a successful NFL career with the Los Angeles Raiders from 1987 to 1993 and the Baltimore Ravens in 1995.
