Professionally Graded HARRY HEILMANN 1928 W565 Hand Cut Strip Card PSA 7 NM Low Pop DETROIT TIGERS HOF. Heilmann is a player who is generally under-appreciated in the hobby, mainly because his career fell within a time-frame when there were not many major baseball card sets produced. He didn't hit with too much power, and not a lot of speed, but his .342 Career Batting Average sits at #15 on the all time career average leader board. He hit over .400 once (.403 in 1923) and over .390 four times. He spent almost all of his career playing for the Detroit Tigers, debuting in 1914, spent 1915 in the Pacific Coast League (PCL), then played for the Tigers from 1916-1929. Heilmann is not in 1914 or 1915 Cracker Jack, nor is he in the 1916 M101-4 or M101-5 sets. He is in a variety of somewhat obscure sets, included 1913 & 1915 Zeenut with the PCL, 1917 Boston Store, Collins-Mcarthy, Standard Biscuit, and Weil Baking, which are all similar in design to the M101-4 & M101-5 sets, although typically more rare. The closest thing to a "mainstream" set that he is included in was the 1922 E120 American Caramel set (also 1921-22 E121 & 1922 E122 American Caramel Series).
