1887-90 N172 Old Judge Tommy McCarthy (#301-2a, Philadelphia) PSA VG 3. Tommy McCarthy cemented his Hall of Fame career as a member of the Boston Beaneaters NL championship teams of the 1890s, but he also put in some great seasons for another great 19th squad- the St. Louis Browns of the American Association. A speedy outfielder, McCarthy was well-known as one of the "Heavenly Twins," along with fellow Hall of Famer, Hugh Duffy, who claimed that McCarthy was one of the smartest players he ever saw. Offered is an Old Judge card of the innovative outfielder that has been graded PSA 3. NOTE: The marking at the top of the card is not a pin-hole.
