Era Signed- 1956 Topps Mickey Mantle (Gray Back) #135 CGC Good 2, JSA Auto 8. As the story goes on this was signed- former New York Yankees right fielder Hank Bauer was the restaurant owner and had invited some of his former Yankee teammates to sign for wide-eyed customers. The Yanks were in town for a series against the then-Kansas City Athletics and several of them, including Mantle, obliged. Our consignor, who was just a youngster at the time, accompanied his father and brother to the event and boldly walked over to Mickey and asked him for his autograph. The previous owner said: "I approached Mickey Mantle and asked for his autograph. I handed him my 1956 Topps Mantle card and he graciously signed it. I've owned the card ever since; it has remained in my possession for nearly 70 years." If only every autographed card had such a cool story like this one attached to it. Graded CGC Good 2 with a certified JSA Auto 8. Comes with the original coa via Heritage from the person who got it signed. I attached a photo of that too. Era signed Mantle's are impossible to find and this is a ghost card.
